Norine Canerday
(August 18, 1921 - February 20, 2012)

Mrs. Norine Canerday, age 90 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012, at the Specialty Hospital of Winnfield.

Born Thursday, August 18, 1921, Mrs. Canerday was the daughter of the late Hardy and Eunice Martin. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Dorothy Kelley, and Ottyce Sullivan.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, and was a graduate of Winnfield High School, and Northwestern State, where she earned a Bachelors and a Masters degrees in education. She was a retired teacher, having taught in Natchitoches and Winn Parishes. She was a member of Kappa Delta Phi, an international honors society in education.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Canerday, daughter, Charlotte Page and husband Tim, all of Winnfield; grandchildren, Steve Canerday of Alexandria, Lisa McCarter of Kaufman, TX, Scott Canerday, Victor Lee Page, and Nicholas Page, all of Winnfield; nine great-grandchildren, Macey, Kaylie, Emily, and Chris Canerday, Madeliene McCarter, Bricen, Daniel Luke, Elizabeth Jane, and Catherine Ann Page.

Other Survivors are nieces, Dottie Carpenter of Farmerville, LA, and Linda Tucker of Laurel, MS; nephews, Donald W. Ferrier of Shreveport, Glynn Ferrier of Breaux Bridge, Roger Ferrier of Natchitoches and Rex Ferrier of Victoria, TX

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM , and again on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, from 1:00 PM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Southern Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Phelps and Rev. John Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Of Memories, in Winnfield.
