SEDONA, AZ. AND MONTEZUMA CASTLE NATIONAL MONUMENT

The scenic drive to Sedona was wonderful.  Driving down the mountain area we saw beautiful red rock formations.  Sedona scenery cannot be compared to anything, you have to see it yourself.  We went to Montezuma’s Castle – the well preserved cliff dwelling built by prehistoric Sinagua Indians, 1100 A.D.  It sits high on a limestone cliff.  It depicts life at the cliff dwelling when it was inhabited in prehistoric time by the Sinagua Indians from 1100 A.D. to 1400 A.D.  Next we saw the Chapel of the Holy Cross, built right into the red rocks.  We had lunch at Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village.  Tlaquepaque is pronounced T-lockey-pockey and is a replica of Guadalajara, a city in Mexico.  Sedona is a beautiful place!
