Funeral services for Mrs. Inez Gilstrap Kirk, 77, of Alexandria, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ryan Horton officiating.  Burial was held in Memory Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Kirk died at 2:20 a.m. Friday in Alexandria.

She was a native of Temple, Texas and a longtime former resident of Natchitoches.  A Northwestern State College graduate, she served as a school librarian at Parks Elementary School from its opening to her retirement in 1977.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. Thomas Kent Kirk of Madison, Wisc., Dr. Ben Truett Kirk of Hammond, and James Day Kirk of Alexandria; two sisters, Daphna White of Temple, Texas, and Billie Nichols of Kerrville, Texas; one brother, W. P. Gilstrap Jr. of Waco; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William T. Kirk.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, 70 E. Lake Street, Chicago, Ill. 60601.
