Jerrel Alford

Haughton, LA --Jerrel Alford, 64, of Haughton, La. passed September 12, 2005. His memorial will be 4 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Fellowship Tabernacle in Benton, La.  Bro. Mack Brantley will be speaking.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mayfield Sr. and Tressie Alford; brother, Edgar Alford Sr., Slick Alford, Merrel Alford (his twin), Robert Alford, and Clyde Tate, and sister, Addie Woods and his son, Nick.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joan Alford; daughter, Leann Nelson, and son, Greg Cardenas Sr.; stepchildren, Raylene Johnson, Michael Cardenas, and Terry Cardenas; eight grandchildren, Greg Jr., Shane, NicK Ryan, Daniel, Daniella, Brenda, Tasha, Teri Ann, five brothers, Bide Tate, Elvin Alford, Albert Alford, Bill Alford, Jimmy Alford; four sisters, Clara Solice, Doris Pleasant, Edith Ann Pearson, Nita Duval, numberous nieces and nephews.

(NOTE:  According to his sister in law, Jerrel was cremated, no burial.  His mother, Tressie Augusta Phillips Tate Alford is buried in St. Anne Cemetery near Allen, also known as Spanish Lake Cemetery - his father, Mayfield Sr and brother, Mayfield Jr are buried there also.)
