Amarylis "Rill" Cedars
(March 21, 1927 - August 28, 2011)

A service to remember the life of Amarylis “Rill” Cedars will be 2 pm Thursday September 1, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches with Reverend Thomas Rush officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 5 pm until 9 pm at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cedars, 84 years of age, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. She was born March 21, 1927 to the late Henry Stacy and late Harmolean (Moffett) Stacy in Natchitoches, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Cedars, Sr.; a sister, Camille Gongre and a grandson, Joseph Greer. She retired from Northwestern State University Bookstore and was the owner of Cedars Towing. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Wilson J. “Jiggs” Cedars, JR. and his wife Diane of Alexandria, Roy Cedars and his wife Mickey of Natchitoches, Winston D. Cedars and his wife Terri of Natchitoches, Stacy Cedars and his wife Carolyn of Natchitoches, and Kerry Gene Cedars and his wife Mary of Natchitoches; her daughters, Vikie Lou Cedars of Shreveport, Joy Cedars Knotts of Shreveport, Mary “Meme” C. McManus of Montgomery, Sonia C. Greer and her husband Mark of Oakdale, and Camille Cedars LaCaze of Natchitoches; grandsons, Rudy Greer, Sean O’Con, Chris Cedars, Jason McManus, Bronson Knotts, Skeeter Cedars, Joey Cedars, Sam Cedars, Dudley Cedars, Andy Cedars, Ray LaCaze and Mathew Cedars; granddaughters, Amanda Naramore, Tara Gore, Gretchen Miller, Destiny Cedars, Morgan Cedars, Taylor Cedars, Chi Knotts, Lydia Greer, Aimee Greer, Tana Clark, Stacie Bernard, Lacie Cedars, Christina Cole, Janie Hardee, Lori Cedars, and Tonya Morrow; niece, Donna Wirt; nephew, Johnny Gongre; as well as many close friends.
